Does anyone else have any errors with the VIMICRO USB PC CAMERA on Vista, it worked fine under XP SP2, however i have tried using it on vista & Windows Live Messenger (Which its designed for), and it can load all the drivers etc, but always displays a black screen? Has anyone managed to get there VIMICRO USB PC CAMERA to run under vista, i am also unable to install the software again due to my OS not being Windows XP, and i have also tried running setup.exe with compatability mode (Win XP SP2), but it still tells me it could not run due to it not being windows XP. I got a friend I'm helping set up vista in her computer and they got this camera vimicro with the problem discribed above. When updating drivers at microsoft sd it failed to update the driver vc0303. The current driver installed in the camera is version 301.6.227.4 and this the driver id according to ms is 12695098 any ideas how to get that driver update?, it doesnt show it when i tried to custom update in windows vista.

Should I installed the windows vista advisor on vista? To make it run??? Under scanners and cameras it doesnt show the vimicro camera and device manager doesnt show any conflicts or issues with the camera which shows installed. On vimicro webiste tells you this driver was avaliable since 2003. Where do i get it from. Thanks in advance to anyone!!

Hello all, This is a basic install guide for the Vimicro USB PC Camera (ZC301PLH) 1. Unistall the camera via control panel, add remove hardware.

Restart pc 3. Download the driver file from Links tab ( I have made the file smaller now. Only 31 megs) 4. Unzip the file and find the Driver folder.

Select and run the Setup.exe 5. Select next and allow the files to install. You might need to restart your computer again. Do not allow the update from Windows Update to install as my camera seemed to stop working after I updated and I had to do it all again. (uncheck the option) The camera should now work fine. Please give it a go and tell me if it works for you.

Dear winston humm so i tired with the one you put up before. But then it didnt work, it says it has installed sucessfully (i cant sseem to stop the windows update to install it by itself. It just automatically start and install it as long as i plug it webcam in.where so i uncheck the option it doesn give me an option it jsut installed itself?) so i tried to uninstall it now, and it is refusing to!! I keep on clicking uninstall and it just doesnt that uninstalling -' i have restarted the laptop million times to try to uninstall it but it is just still there.? This is so messed up.

Hi, i bought a vimicro usb pc camera (303) from ebay when i first installed it into my laptop it didnt work but suddenly it started working.however i had to unistall it due to some reason and now when i reinstalled it.it doesnt work anymore.i get blank screen although my computer seems to say that its connected i get no visual. I downloaded the zip file that u have provided but that doesnt seem to work for me im just sooooo confused because i used the cd that came with the camera.its supposed to be vista compatible but it didnt work.and since i have download and installed and unistalled many drivers but cant seem to get it to work i am getting really really frustrated someone plzzzzzzzzz help. Vista doesn't support 'old' web cams and 'old' printers very well at all.

I have 6 cams, all of which work perfectly in XPSP2 and even in Linux. As soon as you plug em into a box running any build of Vista, whammo, doesn't work no matter what you try. Two of my cams are mentioned here by other users, VM301 and VM303. My advice, don't bother trying to use them in Vista, you'll just waste time and get frustrated. If you really want to use them then throw XP SP2 back on like I did because Vista is nothing short of a POS with some eye candy.

Don't even get me started on problems with Windows Live mail and MSN in Vista - you'll be using it fine for a few months and then BANG, it dies, and the next time you open it it has to re-install, only thing is the re-install process dies and it gets into a never ending loop. Our company has about 1500 user desktops running XP SP2, they are all 'Vista ready' but after the first day into our 4 week testing phase we decided that Vista is not suitable for use in a business where people need to actually get things done.

Note to M$: Computers are meant to be tools, for DOING things. They aren't meant to be something that you have to spend more time fixing than doing things which are productive. Everyone has had bad and good experiences. I bought recently a brand new computer from the company where i work at, they installed windows vista, premium and the only complain that I have is my old lexmark wouldnt work due to vista. But I knew that from the beginning so no big sorprise there. I have no other problems whatsoever to report.

I'm pretty sure it's not perfect and I'm pretty sure xp when it came out it had a whole bunch of bugs that eventually got resolved. I'm not defening ms or vista. All I'm saying is that change is shocking! But eventually turns out to be right thing as you move forward! (except for windows mellinum which turned out to be. from day one until the last day for every one).

I have a noname web, it has about 6 years and works perfect on windows vista ultimate. Now my neighbour bouth a vimicro vc0303. Night vision, and doesent work on vista ultimate. What is the logic? An old camera works just fine and the intex webcam apears with a black screen. On xp works just fine but my neighbour does not want to change vista for xp because xp works like.

And has a lot of virus problems. I tried to instal that driver from a4tech.

But still the same.! BlaCK SCREEN! Other recomandations? I have read all your posts regarding ViMicro VC0303 Webcam. I had the same problem with yours. The first time I've installed it, the name was A4tech PC Camera. But after sometime I've carelessly unistalled it and happened not to use it for so how many days.

I've search alot on how to fix it. Then I have unplugged and plugged it so many times and got a different name of cam as 'ViMicro VC0303 Webcam'. It sais in the control panel that the pc cam is properly working but i get a black screen which is not good. And then I went to the A4Tech Website to see if they have a free driver installation on camera.

So I got a perfect solution to it! Now, I can use my cam. Hope you guys can get some help on this, visit the. Its all free and no limit of days usage. I tells you what you got to do and direct you on installations, the proper driver for your model cam that is suited to your Operating System.

Just follow the directions and be sure to restart your pc. It has taken me a while cause i'm a novice to this, but to try and help you all.

I visited the Vimicro website, and clicked on drivers, I already had it installed as vs0303 but as with most of us, sound but no pic. I saved this folder, zc0301plh, DRVZC0301PLH20070329.

I then opened and installed it. I did try this a couple of times and on my second attemp it works perfect. Oh and just to let you know I am running vista home basic so it should work for those of you who need it. I really hope this works for you as it has me, and believe me I'm one of those people who really doesn't have a clue, as I brought the cam of ebay thinking it was a plug and go. Anyway good luck folks. Hi there egood, to be honest I'm not sure how to tell you how to do it cause I don't know how I did it myself, but if you download both vc0303 drvvco3o350hz0927 and then zc0301plh drvzc0301plh070329 save them to your computer then open and run them it seems to work. It did take me a lot of messing around.

Microsoft finds the drivers when you plug the camera in and it installs everything you need to use it, including the little amcap icon on your screen. But when you come to view the camera there is nothing. I did at first uninstall the Microsoft driver and try the one which begins with zc0303plh; but that too didn't work. So i installed them both and it started to work fine. I didn't mess with any thing else, at least nothing to do with virtual java any way, my brother would kill me!!! Try both drivers together and see how you get on, good luck.

Hi, I'm neither having problem with my webcam nor using Windows Vista. I am using Windows XP SP2 and scanner CanonScan FB 630Ui. My scanner is an old one that I bought it when I had another notebook with Windows 98. I tried to use the old scanner on my notebook with Windows XP SP2. At first, it did not work so I downloaded the relevant files/drivers from Canon website. However, everytime when I start the image scanner software, a 'Vimicro' error occurs.

I reported the problem to Microsoft each time but there is no reply. I can still scan a page or two before the whole notebook becomes black out (power down). CanonScan FB 630Ui has no individual power supply but it receives power from USB port. I do not know what exactly the problem is. Anything related to image?

Memory space? Power supply? Hi there, did you use the driver that originally came with your canon scan or one that you downloaded from the canon website. I took a quick look at the canon website myself and they don't appear to have canon scan FB 630Ui. They have FB 630U, if you downloaded this driver that might be why. There are lots of other things to download too such as tools and scangear twain driver. And do you have a vimicro web cam, or any other product by them installed on your notebook. I looked through the self help pages on the canon website and they too seem as though they could give you as much help as possible.

You might want to take time to have a good look through as some times it is the simplest of things. Thanks for your reply, peanut.m. I installed Canon Scan FB630Ui software to my Windows XP SP2 notebook by the original CD that came with the scanner. Then I downloaded 2 files from the following Canon links: (1) ScanGear CS for Windows Ver5.3.2 SetupDisk: (2) ScanGear Toolbox CS Ver2.2.3 for Windows SetupDisk: After the above programs were installed, I still encountered the 'vimicro' error.

I tried another old scanner with a power supply yesterday. There was no power down being occurred. Hence the reason of sudden power down might be related to the insufficient power supply from the notebook to the scanner FB630Ui that receives power by USB port. However the 'vimicro' error is still a mystery to me whenever I started the scanner software.

I did installed a few web cam before but I did not connect the web cam when the 'Vimicro' error appeared. I do not know if any of my web cam belongs to vimicro type or not. How can I check?

You might want to take time to have a good look through as some times it is the simplest of things. I found a Vimicro directory in the 'Program Files'. There is a sub-directory named 'VM301B'.

From the Vimicro web site that you suggested in your previous message, I saw ZC0301Plus, ZC0301PL, ZC0301PLH and VC0301PLNV, etc. But I could not find any 'VM301B'. Peanut.m wrote: Hi there again Pettigrain, quick question. Does your webcam have a metal outercase with eight led lights around it, and do you use it at all? Hi, peanut.m. Thanks for your reply and previous tips.

One of my webcams, 301P USB Camera, does have a metal outercase with led lights around it (to be used in dark environment). I seldom use my webcam which is not plugged in unless I have to use it. From your previous suggestion to download drivers from Vimicro web site, I tried to download a few files such as ZC0301Plus, ZC0301PL, ZC0301PLH, etc. It seems that both ZC0301PL and ZC0301PLH have same contents but ZC0301PLH comes with 1 more file 'DriverZC0301PLHVistaSetup070329.exe'. Although I do not have Windows Vista, I tried the above setup file.

After installation, the 'Vimicro' error has not shown up even if I started my scanner. I am not sure if the error will be gone forever and I need more time to check.

Thanks for your suggestion again. Fantastic solution.

I have been trying to get my Vimicro webcam 6 LED's working for ages and it is working better than it did when first installed. Just installed drivers A4 Tech PC Camera H and all is well. I initially had installed webcam on my XP Desktop but it struggled to find drivers on start up, eventually grinding to a halt. I next tried to install webcam on Vista laptop, same problem. The quality of capture is far better, an improvement on the original drivers supplied with cam, just need to check which is best frames per sec, have raised fps and quality keeps improving.

I can now relax and sleep well tonight! Thanks Steve, you put me on the right track! I tried all the other suggestions mentioned on this site, but yours worked for me. The only difference is that I am using Windows 7 Home Premium, 32bit. Webcam Vimicro 303. For others using the same OS the following is what I did: Downloaded A4 Tech PC Camera H (which included XP32/2000,Vista/Win 7 drivers) 41mg in total. This I did from Rapidshare (Switzerland), slow mode which is free to download Ran the zipped file to my preferred location Ran the Installation program from the Setup file in drivers/Win 7 folder Restarted my computer Connected my webcam To prevent Windows from auto installing from wherever it wants to go to: Control Panel, System & Security, Device Drivers Select Imaging Devices, you will see A4 Tech PC Camera H Right click, select Properties, update driver and select 'Browse for driver software on my computer' Point to the.
